Dear Out-of-District Families:
At Oneonta City Schools, we value our out-of-district students and families. As we prepare for a new school year with you, we want to make you aware of our district policy. Non-resident students must apply when they enter the school system, and then re-apply before 3rd grade, before 6th grade, and before 9th grade. This allows principals to review non-resident status at critical checkpoints and as students enter each new school.
If your student is entering 3rd, 6th, or 9th grade as a non-resident Oneonta City Schools student for the 2024-2025 school year, you are required to complete a non-resident enrollment application. We encourage you to complete the re-application process by submitting the application to the appropriate school office at your earliest convenience, but no later than May 1, 2024. Each request for continued enrollment will be reviewed and must be officially approved by the Board at one of their monthly meetings. Once Board action has been taken, you will be contacted and updated by the appropriate school.
We encourage and appreciate your prompt action to have the application submitted in a timely manner. The $500 non-resident enrollment fee for all students is due by July 10, 2024. Payment by cash or check is accepted in our Central Office or can be mailed to Oneonta City Schools, 28370 State Highway 75, Oneonta, 35121. Please contact our office if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Craig Sosebee, Superintendent
